The Corvallis Kiwanis Foundation
The Corvallis Kiwanis Foundation is a 501(c)(3) corporation that was incorporated in July 1973 by the two Corvallis-area Kiwanis clubs: the Kiwanis Club of Corvallis and the Kiwanis Club of Corvallis Sunrisers. Donations made to the Foundation do qualify as charitable contributions according to both State and Federal requirements.
All donations and gifts are administered by the Board of Directors of the Foundation in harmony with the stated purposes in accordance with the by-laws of the Foundation. All donated funds are invested and up to five percent of the assets are distributed each year, thus ensuring that funds will always be available to support and encourage worthwhile local projects and programs. Our annual overhead is less than one percent, and we have no paid staff.
The Corvallis Kiwanis Foundation advises each donor, prior to donating, to check with his or her personal financial and legal advisors with respect to the impact of a donation on their personal situation. Those wishing to make a donation in rememberance of someone, should include an In Remembrance/or in Honor (PDF) form with their check.
Testamentary Gifts: In addition to regular Donations, The Corvallis Kiwanis Foundation is eligible to receive tax-exempt gifts by will or codicil. Individuals wishing to make such gifts are again advised to check with their personal financial and legal advisors prior to making such Testamentary Gifts.
The Corvallis Kiwanis Foundation’s tax identification number is 23-7293911.
The Corvallis Kiwanis Foundation invites applications for funding. Due to IRS regulations, the Foundation can grant money only to 501 (c)(3) non-profit entities. The foundation is relatively small so most gifts are for a modest amount. Funding requests are done once a year and the closing date for all funding requests is December 1st of each year. Funding allocations will be made in the winter quarter only.
